How does WattleFence compare to standard silt fence?
Traditional silt fence is often prone to blowouts and requires mechanical trenching. WattleFence is a semi-permeable, all-natural alternative that allows water to flow through at a controlled rate while trapping sediment, significantly reducing pressure on the barrier and minimizing failure points.
Can WattleFence be installed on slopes?
Yes, and it is an excellent tool for slope interruption. Installing WattleFence in rows along a steep embankment reduces the effective slope length and the velocity of runoff, giving vegetation the best chance to take hold.
Is installation difficult?
No. Because WattleFence is flexible, it conforms to the ground without trenching. It is secured simply by driving stakes on the downstream side of the wattle, making it faster and less labor-intensive than traditional silt fence installation.
