The Silt Saver is a patented (US 11,708,690) inlet protection device designed to prevent sediment and debris from entering stormwater systems through small drains – including yard inlets, golf course drains, landscape drains, beehive drains, and drywells measuring 30 inches or less. It consists of a durable, reusable 38 inch polyethylene frame paired with a replaceable filter, and is sourced and manufactured in the United States.

The Landscape and Yard Use Frame and Filter Assembly is specifically engineered for small-diameter drainage structures – including yard inlets, landscape drains, golf course drains, beehive drains, and drywells with openings of 30 inches or less. It is an ideal stormwater inlet protection solution for residential, commercial landscaping, and turf management applications.

The Landscape and Yard Use Frame and Filter uses a high-visibility green mesh filter top rated at greater than 1,100 gallons per minute per square foot of clear water flow, while capturing sediment and debris before it enters the stormwater system. The filter base contours to the surrounding surface – whether raw dirt, crush run, asphalt, or concrete – to minimize the risk of undermining and bypass flow.

Installation requires no machinery and takes only minutes – simply place the polyethylene frame over the drain, drape the filter over the frame, and fill the integrated base bags with rock or sand to anchor the device in place (rock/sand not included). No specialized tools, equipment, or professional installation services are needed.

The Landscape and Yard Use Frame and Filter Assembly is available with two filter options: the 2 Stage Filter and the High Flow Filter, both designed to fit the 38 inch frame. Each filter is replaceable, allowing the reusable polyethylene frame to remain in service while only the filter is swapped out for continued sediment control.

The integrated base bags, when filled with rock or sand, add ballast weight that secures the entire assembly firmly over the drain without mechanical fasteners or anchoring hardware. This design also allows the filter base to conform closely to irregular ground surfaces – raw dirt, asphalt, or concrete – reducing the likelihood of stormwater bypassing the filter through undermining.

The polyethylene frame is durable and fully reusable – only the filter itself needs to be replaced when it reaches capacity or becomes damaged. Replacement filters are available separately as the Landscape/Yard Use Replacement Filter, making the unit a cost-effective, low-waste long-term inlet protection solution.

Unlike silt fence, which requires staking and is not practical for protecting individual point-source inlets, the Frame & Filter is a self-contained, tool-free assembly that installs directly over the drain in minutes and requires minimal ongoing maintenance. Compared to under-grate sediment bags, the Frame & Filter provides above-grate protection with a higher clear-water flow rate of over 1,100 gpm/ft2, reducing the risk of ponding or overflow during storm events.
