Silt Fence TRAP SEDIMENT FROM YOUR WORKSITE WITH COMMERCIAL AND DOT-GRADE SILT FENCE
Silt Fence is a commonly specified, economical sediment control BMP, designed to provide perimeter control from construction site runoff.
Silt fence helps to slow runoff, in order to retain sediments such as silt, clay, and sand, during land disturbing activities.
MKB Company manufactures a variety of Commercial and DOT-Grade Silt Fence products using UV-stabilized woven geotextile materials and hardwood stakes.
Keep soils on your site and prevent sediment from entering waterways with MKB Silt Fence products. Contact us for more information about silt fence specifications, approvals in your state, and custom printing options.

Frequently Asked Questions
Silt Fence is a temporary sediment control barrier made of UV-stabilized geotextile fabric supported by stakes. It’s designed to slow runoff and retain silt, clay, and sand on construction sites.
Silt Fence helps keep soil on site and prevents sediment from entering nearby waterways or storm drains. By slowing water flow, it allows sediment to settle out before leaving the disturbed area.
Silt Fence is installed along site perimeters, downhill edges, and around disturbed soils during construction. It’s also commonly used near water bodies and environmentally sensitive areas to control sediment runoff.
Silt Fence fabric is available in common heights such as 24”, 30”, 36”, and 42”, with multiple fabric weights and roll lengths. Stakes are offered in different heights and lumber sizes to match site conditions.
The fence fabric is made from woven polypropylene geotextile that is UV-resistant and durable. Hardwood or softwood stakes provide structural support during installation and use.
Silt Fence is an economical, easy-to-install solution for perimeter sediment control. It integrates well with other BMPs to improve overall erosion and sediment management on site.
The geotextile fabric is not designed to biodegrade quickly under jobsite conditions. UV stabilization helps it maintain performance throughout the construction phase.
Yes. Siltron® Advanced Silt Fence offers a multi-layer composite design with improved resistance to tearing and blinding. It’s well suited for challenging sites and higher sediment or pollutant loads.
