The Silt Saver Frame and Filter Assembly is a drop inlet protection device designed to prevent sediment and trash from entering the inlets of a stormwater system.
The Silt Saver Rectangle Base Frame & Filter Assembly is made of a durable, reusable polyethylene frame with a replaceable filter. Filters are available in two options. Both filter options have high visibility green mesh tops that will mark the location of inlets and allow for >1000gpm/ft2 stormwater overflow. The base of the filters has integrated bags for rock or stone to provide weight, securing the device in place. The rock bags contour to the surrounding surface reducing the chances of undermining. The entire device is quickly and easily installed by placing the frame over the inlet, covering the frame with the filter, and filling the bags around the base with rock or stone. Installation takes minutes and requires no machinery. The device provides consistent protection of your drain with minimal maintenance. This durable device replaces the traditional silt fence box that has historically been installed around drop inlets, inevitably failing, and requiring replacement many times during construction. The Frame and Filter are sold as an assembly of one frame with a choice of 4 filter options.
Filter Option
2 Stage DOT Filter (A700A-DOT)
The 2 Stage DOT Filter is designed for greater sediment retention while still providing for stormwater overflow. The base of the filters is made of durable pouches for placement of rock or stone weight. Stage 1 of this filter impounds approximately 16 inches of water and is made of gray, nonwoven fabric providing >96% efficiency of sediment filtration. Stage 2 is made of high visibility, high flow green mesh providing >1100gpm/ft2 stormwater overflow.
High Flow Filter (A700A-HF)
The High Flow Filter is designed to prevent flooding in areas of high water flow. The base of the filters is made of durable pouches for placement of rock or stone weight. The rock bags impound approximately 8 inches of stormwater. The remainder of this filter is made of high visibility high flow green mesh that allows significant water to flow through while still preventing trash and floatables from entering the pipe system.
High Flow Filter – Green Color (A700A-HFG)
The High Flow Filter is designed to prevent flooding in areas of high water flow. The base of the filters is made of durable pouches for placement of rock or stone weight. The rock bags impound approximately 8 inches of stormwater. The remainder of this filter is made of high visibility high flow green mesh that allows significant water to flow through while still preventing trash and floatables from entering the pipe system.
Specialty 2 Stage DOT Filter (A700B-DOT-Specialty)
The 2 STAGE DOT Specialty Filter is designed to meet the requirements of Maryland and Virginia DOT. The base of the filters is made of durable pouches for placement or rock or stone weight. Stage 1 of this filter impounds approximately 16 inches of water and is made of black nonwoven fabric providing >96% efficiency of sediment filtration. Stage 2 is made of high visibility, high flow green mesh providing>1100gpm/ft2 stormwater overflow.
