MKB Company and Silt Sock have worked collaboratively for years, and this merger will allow both companies to better serve their customers by offering additional manufacturing and distribution locations and a wider variety of product offerings.
The combined companies will operate under the MKB Company name with the Silt Sock brand continuing to operate as a division of MKB Company. This merger adds Silt Sock’s three locations, Foley, MN; Portage, WI; and Milaca, MN to MKB Company’s existing 12 locations; further expanding MKB Company’s commitment to support regional and national distribution across the country with innovative and quality products. MKB Company, along with their new partners at Silt Sock, are passionate about providing superior products that will protect the environment by controlling soil erosion on construction sites.
The merged company will operate under the leadership of Rick Costello, President of MKB Company. Rick has worked for the last seven years with MKB Company and was promoted to the role of President in February 2023, shortly after MKB Company’s acquisition of Filtrexx International. Prior to working with MKB Company, Rick worked in the steel industry, surgical instrument repair industry, and private equity. He has 35 years of experience operating manufacturing and service businesses. Jason Alderink and Peter Tonn will join the existing MKB Company Ownership Team and will remain focused on growing their existing Minnesota and Wisconsin locations, as well as driving product and sales growth for MKB Company with a particular focus on expansion in the Midwest and Western parts of the United States.
